SS501 and hong kong girls are just friends :)

Back in August, SS501 took some time off from their Japanese concert promotions by vacationing in Hong Kong. Two of the members of SS501, Kim Hyun Joong and Heo Young Saeng were spotted getting into a cab with 2 random Hong Kong girls. The media circulated rumors that the boys went to Hong Kong for "extracurricular activities," that they secretly flew into Hong Kong for a secret get-away vacation with females. While DSP Entertainment denied the claims and stated, "It's just tabloid / paparazzi work. SS501 was tired from the Budokan concerts in Japan and they went to Hong Kong to unwind with 8 friends that they knew as kids. It's just the Hong Kong media twisting the story around from the photos showing the two females getting into a cab with Hyun Joong and Young Saeng." Well earlier today, the SS501 members were guests on MBC's Golden Fishery and addressed the issue by stating that the women "were just friends who happen to live in Hong Kong." So this begs the question, was it friends with benefits or just friends? Also they should've known better since Lan Kwai Fong is one of the trendiest spots in Hong Kong littered with paparazzi. What do kpop stars think of 2009?

A lot of things happened this year in the world of K-pop. Some of them good, some of them bad, some of them ugly with 100% purity. Korea's Star News decided to interview some of our favorite K-pop stars to find out what they think about the year 2009. They sadly did not interview any celebrities that fall in the category of the bad and the ugly, but hey, good is the best, right?

Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls, who have again proved that they know how to shake it with Abracadabra and Sign, said:
"This is the year that BEG got upgraded. We got busier as we gained popularity but it was really fun. We also got the Female Group of the Year award for the first time since our debut. It was the most meaningful year for BEG"


SNSD, who enjoyed fame that came with their massive hits, said:
"2009 was the year that our wishes were granted. Not only did Gee and Say Your Wish(Genie) receive positive reactions, we also managed our first solo concert and Asian tour."


Miss Park Gyuri of happy-go-lucky Kara said:
"It was the first year that we actually got an award, our efforts paid off this year. We gained a lot of fame overseas as well and I'm happy about that. We also started on individual projects. It was nice to get an opportunity to spread our names."


Now onto the guys.

Hyung Joon, not Hyun Joong who has similar name but very different level of fame, of SS501 said:
"We learned about the preciousness of our team members as we did a lot of solo projects during the first half of the year. We also developed musically. It was all good except for the fact that we did not get to perform as 5 for a lot."


Adorable SHINee made quite a bold statement:
"2009 was the year of us. With Juliette and Ring Ding Dong, we matured internally and externally. We also got to become closer to our fans and communicate through music."


Last but not least, newcomers BEAST said:
"It was the year of new opportunity and amazing luck. We finally became artists. We began a new journey."

Last week we reported that SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joongalong with You're Beautiful star Jung Yong Hwa was going to be featured on a new show in MBC's Sunday Nightlineup, with a show titled Hunters. The show stars 5 other members including Kara's Goo Hara and the basic premise is that they'll carefully catch wild boars because of the harm they can cause on both people and crops. Min Ho :)

Last week, Boys Over Flowers star Lee Minho was in Japan to continue his fan meeting tour of Asia. He held two fan meetings, the first on November 22nd at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, and the second on November 26th at the CC Lemon Hall in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo. An estimated 3500 fans came to the Osaka fan meeting and 4500 for the one in Tokyo, for a total of 8000. Lee Minho previously had fan meetings in Hong Kong and Taipei before stopping by in Japan. He's scheduled to go to Singapore next on December 21st and the fan meeting there is scheduled to be held at the Max Pavilion Singapore Expo Center. Tickets for the Singapore event goes on sale December 1st and the ticket prices ranges from around $100 and goes all the way up to near $200. Even though Boys Over Flowers ended a while ago in Korea, but outside of Korea I believe it's currently playing (or recently ended) in the various asian countries, so the image of Lee Minho is still fresh to many people. Kim Hyun Joong is currently leading a popularity poll onYahoo! Taiwan. Yahoo! Taiwan and Yahoo! Hong Kong have come together for the Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards 2009 and in the Taiwanese poll, Kim Hyun Joong is in first place for the Asia section with 401,235 votes. Also, his group SS501 is in 2nd place with 60,396 votes which technically means he has almost 500,000 votes. It's been known that Boys Over Flowers started playing in Taiwan but the popularity of the show proved itself through this poll. Goo Hye Sun is in 6th place, Lee Min Ho in 11th, and Kim Bum in 22nd. Guess it's Jihoo sunbae over Goo Jun Pyo in Taiwan. Excluding the Boys Over Flowers cast, Super Junior is in 4th place with 22,448 votes,Lee Jun Ki is in 8th andYoon Eun Hye is in 9th. Is this a poll for Asia or Korea? A representative of Yahoo! Korea said,"This poll shows how big Hallyu is. I hope Korean stars bring in more votes in the days that are left for the poll." These polls are for an actual awards show that is to be held in Hong Kong on December 14th. There's a few days left till the polls close but it doesn't seem like anyone will come close to Kim Hyun Joong.

Last week , Kim Jun was hospitalized after Hong Kong performances due to a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). and the news had report that kim jun got h1n1.....

but, luckily ... It has been confirmed that it wasn't H1N1 virus and was a normal flu this morning :)
